Is it just me or do these moving photographs remind you of something out of Harry Potter?!! I especially like the reflection one...eeeeeeeeerie!

I was just trawling through my usual blog list when I came across them here. Young, talented and beautiful New York based photographer (jealous yet??!)  Jamie Beck photographs everyone and everything.

See? Told you she was beautiful!

She even managed to capture the Olsen twins looking normal for a change...

There's plenty more moving photography so go and check it out.

Enjoy

Etsy featured 4Four's online shop today and I'm smitten with these little cards! I had to restrain myself from featuring all of them. These were some of my favourites's though. I particularly like the second card. If you're tired of notes left on the fridge or having to send text messages then this is the perfect way to get your point across.

Mostly boring purchases this time around. However I'm pretty impressed with the glass caraffe that is now my wine decanter. Hopefully next time around my purchases will be more like the second collage. One can dream right?

In my previous blog post I mentioned that I was off to Melbourne. After 5 whirlwind days, 4 (very) late nights, 3 fabulous dinners, 2 op shop expeditions and 1 reunion with my beautiful friend Karen later, I am back in Byron...with the post Melbourne blues. Unfortunately, I had misplaced my camera charger which meant that I had very little battery for photos. Such a bummer. Luckily Karen brought her Diana mini so hopefully she will develop them and post up the photos on her blog soon...*hint hint*

Highlights include:

  1. Finding the department store equivalent of op shops in Brunswick and buying a typewriter
  2. MoVida Aqui's Spanish tapas and sangria...YUM!
  3. Drinking Larmandier Champagne and listening to The Smiths on vinyl with a friend who was house-sitting a mansion that overlooked the city
  4. $4 gourmet pizzas at Lucky Coq on Chapel Street
  5. Admiring all the Victorian townhouses' that someday I will hopefully call my own! And most importantly...
  6. Mamasita: I had heard a lot of good reports about this quirky tequila bar. We braved the wind and the cold and lined up for half an hour to get the best seat in the place...the bar of course! The food is spectacular and the margarita's are well worth the trip to Melbourne alone. The staff are a little odd but friendly enough. I ate an oxtail taco which nearly killed me. The chilli was so intense that my eyesight and hearing temporarily failed me. Definitely a must see when you're visiting Melbourne next. Get in early though as you may have to wait up to an hour for a table.
Apologies for the quality of the photographs. The lighting wasn't great and I was too busy stuffing my face to be concerned with camera settings.

Yes please!

The extremely decadant dessert we fell in love with. Unfortunately not sugar-free!

My 1950's typewriter!

Dara Ettinger ring

Dara Ettinger ring

Just some rings on my shortlist. Yes the short list. The long list is highly embarrassing. I love wearing rings on every finger...to the point where I often feel that I need more fingers. I'm probably going to be that old lady that wears every piece of jewelery she owns.

On a side note, I'm heading to Melbourne for an op shopping, latte drinking, restaurant eating, tram riding bonanza. I've been to Melbourne a few times now but hoping people can recommend places worth visiting??

I really don't know how I came across Backyard Bill but I'm glad I did. It's a bit of an odd name but 3 years ago professional photographer William Gentle named the blog after shooting his friends in his back garden. The blog is a meet'n'greet for some super stylish and inspiring New Yorkers. If you're thinking 'Wow another street style blog...ground-breaking', rest assured. It's just way better.

Backyard Bill reminds us to embrace our individual style because lets face it, individuality is what makes people interesting.
