Now please don't get the wrong idea from this post. I'm not getting all holy-matrimony on you I promise. This particular shoot just happened to be a wedding. If it had been a bar mitzvah I still would have written this blog. It also just happened to combine a few of my favourite things. A vineyard. A party. Vintage. Vintage bubbles...And of course wonderful photography.

One of my work colleagues recently became engaged and we got to talking about how weddings can be excessively expensive. Lets face it, creating your special day on a modest budget can be pretty tricky and almost im-poss-i-ble. Avoiding the tacky 'How We Met' video montage and that dreaded wedding DJ requires a lot of patience, creativity and planning... not to mention many headaches from unwanted opinions, inflated guest lists and interfering mother-in-law to be's. Anyway, me being me, offered to help her (unwanted opinion perhaps?) with ideas and inspiration and so I've decided to create a little online scrapbook album which she can refer to.

If you're planning your special day or know of someone who is, I highly recommend you take a look at the featured blog link above. She even has some great Wedding style DIY ideas and free downloads too. But even if you just like pretty pictures, like I do, then click away...

So what do you get when you cross 3 guys, 44 days, 11 countries, 18 flights, 38 thousand miles, an exploding volcano, 2 cameras and almost a terabyte of footage?

A trip of a lifetime of course.

These vimeo's are the attempt to turn '3 ambitious linear concepts based on movement, learning and food ....into 3 beautiful and hopefully compelling short films'.

I don't know about you but if anything was going to be the extra kick-up-the-bum that I needed to travel, this was it. Thanks Rick.

Enjoy!

Following in Liss from Daydream Lily's footsteps I've decided to play 'Just a minute'.  It's really just answering the same reflective questions to share what you're "up to" every month. Join in if you like and leave a comment so I can read your "Just a minute's".

Reading...Ok you can't think any less of me... I'm currently reading 'Committed' by Elizabeth Gilbert, the follow up novel to Eat Pray Love. I'm a sucker for a bad sequel but she's quite a good writer and raises some interesting points on the institution of marriage.

Listening...To The Dodo's latest album 'No Colour'. Give the song Hunting Season a whirl to see if you like. Also 'Places, People' album...stunning!

Making... Biscuits! I've recently got back into baking. So far I've made chocolate chip fudge and Anzac cookies. Between my housemates, Ben's appetite and my work mates, I can indulge my love for baking and not have to eat them. Win-win if you ask me.

Watching... True Blood! I'm hooked. Currently up to date with season 4. Also started watching 'Breaking Bad' but not sure if I can get into it. Have you watched it? Last film I watched at the cinema was the final Harry Potter movie and last film on dvd, I fell asleep while attempting to watch the god-awful film 'Wimbledon'- don't bother. No television for me.

Loving... Sweaters and the maroon parker I found at the op shop. The warmer weather. Snail mail. ASOS free shipping.

Trying... Regular blog posting. To keep 'To-Do' lists. Egly-Ouriet Champagne sometime this week, can't wait!

Don't throw away you're aluminium cans
hunt down some old drawers from the council clean-up and create your own herb garden

And finally...A use for all those empty wine bottles you've got lying around

I did a post a while ago called 'Why didn't I think of that?' which was rather popular. So back by popular demand (I've always wanted to say that)  is 'Why didn't I think of that Part II'. Or... aka 'Useful-and-quirky-ideas-for-your-home-and-garden-decor', which was the alternative title for this post.

Every time I come across a DIY project idea I squeal with delight and save it into my DIY folder. The folder is overflowing so this post is enormously overdue. Perhaps I should do a regular DIY decor post? What do you think? I'd love some feedback!

I think I'll start with the wine bottles seeing as though I really do have way too many of them lying around. But that's another post.

In a parallel universe I am a successful party planner and event stylist. Having a career where your job is to create the setting for a special moment in people's lives would be so wonderful. Although always planning the party's and never actually attending them would probably blow sometimes...And the pack-down wouldn't be too glamorous either. Still, I could imagine job satisfaction rates fairly high for this particular profession and that's what we all want, right? Perhaps I'll just live out my "dream job" fantasy by planning glitzy events for friends and family. I thought these photos could help inspire you for your next planned party. I'll expect an invite in the mail soon!

Missing my friends from back home terribly today. It's nice to have bits & pieces of them on my bedroom wall to remind me how much they mean to me.

It's a work in progress.

Today I was trying to find something (anything) to wear and I suddenly realised that I don't own any tees. Admittedly they're not high on my fashion priority list but still, not one tee?? Thanks to Modekungen, a Swedish clothing label that sell all kinds of goodies for both the gents and the ladies, my embarrassing tee situation is about to change. They also ship worldwide...ohhhhh yeaaah. I'm not really into quotes and phrases on tees but I thought the cowboy one was funny. The only problem is I can't decide which one I want the most. Better buy two then.
